Fall Adventures || wunderkin co feature

We've been locked up inside all summer and I've been itching to get us out now that it's cooling down. We've been taking short trips to Indian Cove,  a camping area outside of Joshua Tree National Park, a couple times a week and Eloise loves it. She will now request to "go play on rocks." :) This luxury of driving 10 minutes to a national park is something that we will really miss when we move.

When we would take little picnics to the park last fall, E wasn't a fan of walking around. She mostly wanted snacks and to be carried in a sling or our osprey backpack. But this time she was so confident and wanted to climb on the rocks like dad. It looks like Nick is going to have a new rock climbing buddy soon ;)

My biggest advice when hiking or planning outdoor activities with toddlers is to go without expectations. We plan little trips and are thankful for whatever amount of time we get out there as a family. Even if it's only 20 minutes! Also snacks and a little bribing with m&m's goes a loooonnng way.

If you follow me on IG, you have probably seen my posts about Eloise's personality, so the fact that she was confident enough to climb up on the rocks was a huge deal for us.

If you don't know E: she is quiet and observant. She's very intentional with everything she does. Like crawling, walking and talking, she's been slower than most kids but when she decides to do something, she's all in. She's sweet, reserved and shy. She's adventurous when she's comfortable, yet slow to trust.  She's feisty at home and mostly polite in public. She will memorize everything about you when you meet her, but she might not say "hi" to you until you really know her. She sometimes likes the playgrounds in our community, but will drop everything she's doing to go in "dada's truck" and adventure around JTNP with us. She's everything I needed in a daughter and teaches me so much everyday.

We were lucky enough to partner up with Wunderkin Co, one of our favorite bow shops. If you haven't already, go check them out! The owner, Hillary, is the sweetest soul ever and is so inspirational.
"Hand-crafted, heirloom bows made with love to embolden your little one's WUNDERment and join them on the great adventure of becoming exactly who they are meant to be."
