Goodbye is the Hardest Part

These past couple days have been very difficult saying goodbye to family and friends. It's a bittersweet feeling for us because we are sad to leave the people we love but are very excited to be in Virginia and start our new life together.  We have so many people that care about us and we are so thankful for everybody making our last few days here absolutely perfect.

Friday: I went to Birch Bay with my sister to spend the weekend with our Grammy and Poppy. We figured out the last time we visited was Thanksgiving so it was nice to get away, even though the visit was short. They had a big dinner on Saturday night and I was able to see some close friends and family before the big move.

Saturday: Nick spent the day picking up the U-Haul trailer and packing and then had a nice dinner at a family friend's house.

Sunday: Nick's family had a going away party at Auntie Alice's house. We had a roast feast for dinner and we were so glad to be able to say goodbye to the whole family (minus Stephanie and Dillon because of school). After the party we finished packing the U-Haul and relaxed the rest of the night.

Monday: Laura came to see us in the morning and took me to breakfast to catch up. My dad and brother, Shane, came over to see us in the afternoon and brought us a bunch of snacks for the road. My mom also stocked us up with a ton of food, so I don't think we will be stopping for food at all on the way. For dinner tonight we were welcomed into my Auntie Denise's home with an amazing, early Thanksgiving dinner.

Goodbyes are very hard, but I decided today with a close friend that I won't say goodbye anymore. We say "see you later." Because Nick and I aren't gone forever, and we will definitely be seeing everybody later.
